In our Shamanic ways we work with Power, which is Life Force in a concentrated
form. Power flows according to it's own natural laws of physics. Where there
are two fields of Power the one with the lesser charge, or density, will flow
to the field of Power with the greater charge. When a woman is in her Moontime
her charge of Power is at it's greatest. So, when in a ceremonial situation
where there is a great deal of emotive release (such as is the case in
Doctorings, Sweat Lodge, etc) those emotional charges would flow into the
woman in her Moontime. That woman would then take into herself all the toxic
emotions released by others in the group. Not a good thing. Also, when a woman
is in her Moontime her Life Firce spins in a counter clockwise direction. In
ceremony we integrate the dynamic of the Earth and solar forces which creates
a clockwise spin. When the Power built up during the ceremony should circle
around to the woman in her Moontime it will ground out through her, defeating
the purpose of the empowerment of the ceremony.
The protocol of a woman in her Moontime not being in ceremony is not based on
culture or beliefs, but physics. Shamanism is the spiritual application of
physics. We work within the realm of natural law and do all we can to bring
ourselves into harmony with these forces of Creation, honoring them as the
guiding principles in our own lives.
