Raven Escorts the Queen

Raven thrives

As lunar esteem:

Silver, sliver, black entire -

Light to dark his norm.

Dawn’s Venus,

Embraced in night’s stream

Of stars and Milky Way’s gyre,

Brings Myth into form.

Raven dives

Deeply into Dream

To emerge from that dark empire

With his Vision born.

Dawn’s allure

Holds aloft the Queen-

Born of Time’s wounds and Fortune’s choir-

Whose past is now shorn.

Moon flies

Across Sun’s bright beam,

Crescent winged or silver crowned lyre,

Svelte in velvet worn.

Dawn holds her,

Venus’ jeweled gleam.

In indigo set, her sapphire

Presages the morn.

Raven dies

In diurnal scheme,

While Morning Star, upon Day’s pyre,

Sets free her bright form.

Dawn’s astir

With life’s ever-theme

Of love, sacrifice and desire,

Of Hope not forlorn.

------------------------------------------------------

This poem has a number of elements woven within it that express the hidden mysteries of life in this world. The first is the meter structure. Notice that the lines of each stanza have a syllabic count of 3-5-8-5. The Golden Proportion, or Fibonaci series, is the basis of this count. It is the mathematical proportion that is evident in all of creation from the seed patterns of a flower to the spiral arms of the galaxies. The rhythm of this syllabic pattern serves to put the reader into harmony with Creation.

Astrologically, Moon and Venus were, in that moment, in Leo. They were in their grandest expression of purpose. In cultures throughout history, up until the current era, the Moon was recognized as being masculine, the great Fertility Spirit. He was associated with the Raven. Ravens, when you see them flying in the sky, and their feathers turn to the Sun, glint silvery, just as does the Moon. The Moon, in archaic mythology, silvery, became darker and darker, then takes the shape of a Raven, wings outspread. Raven's quest was to steal the fire from the Sun, that the world might be brightened and warmed, that is, Raven brings the gifts of Spirit from the Celestial/Solar realms to be given to all of humanity. Raven's gift, expressed here poetically, is to exalt Venus, to escort her from the darkness of the Underworld, that her shining gift is made accessible to the world.

Directly across the sky, 180 degrees, just set in the western sky, were the planets Neptune and Jupiter and the asteroid Chiron.  Neptune provokes within us that dreamy state, where, if we remain awake to its possibilities, we are able to Dream the World into being. Chiron holds our wounds. When we dream, we become aware of our wounds and are able to dream them into resolve. Jupiter is fortune, the bringer of truth and blessings. These are all in the astrological sign of Aquarius. The aspect of our Soul's quest through life, triggered into activity by Aquarius, is the radical idealism of the Visionary. Here, in this configuration in our sky, the planets within Aquarius act as the propellant towards the manifest exaltation of the planets in Leo. You might view the planets of Neptune and Jupiter, the asteroid Chiron, as being the end of an arrow fitted to the bowstring of Visionary Idealism. The tip of the arrow, the intent, is being driven towards the manifestation of its purpose. Venus, the Divine Feminine and the Moon, the Divine Masculine are to take their rightful positions on the world stage of our own Soul's theater as co-equal creators of Destiny.

The qualities exhibited by each of these planetary actors is that of love, sacrifice and desire. It is these qualities of our own Soul that are, therefore, being activated, and are the very attributes required that our Destiny becomes fulfilled.

I hope this helps in understanding the values inherent within the photo and poem giving expression to this particular moment in time.

Blessings~
